Dancong Oolong - Duck Poop Oolong (ya shi xiang / 鸭屎香)
A variety of Dancong Oolong tea that is brought to you direct from a family tea farm in Phoenix Mountain (“Feng Huang Shan” 凤凰山) - an area renowned for its Dancong Oolong Tea in Chaozhou, China. Tea leaves are hand-picked and hand-roasted in small batches to ensure the greatest freshness
Grown in yellowish-green soil, which inspired its moniker “ya shi xiang” (鸭屎香) or “Duck Poop Fragrance”. The tea is in no way related to the animal despite its name. It refers to the colour of the soil that the tea is grown in. History has it that the farmer who discovered this tea wanted to protect his tea from being stolen, and thus named it as such.
This variety of tea is native to Phoenix Mountain and is renowned for its rich texture and sweet-smelling aroma. Ya shi xiang is more recently given a more elegant sounding name as ying hua xiang (银花香 Silver Flower Fragrance).
